Main Focus: God is Provider
Abraham and Isaac (Genesis 18; 21-22)

Anticipate: Candy Shelter
In Genesis, God provided for Abraham and his household because Abraham was God's friend and God loved him.  In the hot regions of the middle east where Abraham was traveling, shelter was critical to their survival.  God provided Abraham with tents and today, God provides us with a roof over our heads.  God cares for our needs and He provides for us.

Game: Animal Drop

Memory Verse
" Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God."--Psalm 90:2

Abraham met with the Lord through the visitation of the 3 visitors.  These visitors brought great yet surprising news that God would provide old Abraham and worn out Sarah a baby boy. Nothing was too hard for God.  This prophecy came true the very next year.
After a few years, God gave Abraham an unexpected command to sacrifice his one and only son on Mount Moriah.  In obedience, Abraham did as God said, still believing that God would provide.  Just as Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac, his son, the angel of the LORD spoke to Abraham and stopped him for harming the boy.  At the moment, God provided a ram caught by the thorn nearby in place of Isaac as the sacrifice.
2000 years later, on the same mountain, God sacrificed His one and only Son, Jesus.  This time, He did not spare His own Son for the sake of saving all nations.  God provides Jesus as the atoning sacrifice for everyone.  God is Provider.

Respond: God Provides Animals for Food
Out of God's great love, He promised Abraham that He would take care of Abraham's immediate household.  God still provides for believers today.  As children of God, we should help those around the world who are in need, too.
Bless
Philippians 4:19
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
May the Lord meet all the needs of our children according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.  May the children know that God is their Provider.  God always takes care of each of us.  May the children trust in God's provision and follow Him wherever He leads them.

Main Focus: God is a Covenant Keeper (part 2)
Abram (Genesis 12; 15-16)

Anticipate: Constellation
There are numerous stars in the universe.  God created each star and knows them all by name.  We as humans don't have God's ability to remember each one by name.  So in ancient times, the stars were grouped together into shapes.  And those groups were called constellations.

Worship with songs: led by Youth Band
Game: Number the Beans

Memory Verse
" Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God."--Psalm 90:2

God made a covenant with Abram that his descendent would be given the Promised Land, that Abram would have numerous descendants like the stars in the sky and sand at the beach, and that all people on earth would be blessed through Abram.  In time, God's covenant with Abram all came true!  Because we know God is a covenant keeper, we can have confidence in the covenant He made with us, that through one special descendent of Abram, Jesus, we are forgiven.  Our sins will be remembered NO MORE.  We can have that perfect relationship with God forever.

Respond: Heart of Sand
When God promised Abram that his descendent would be as many as the grains of sand on the seashore or the stars in the sky, He did it out of love.  As we ponder on God's love for Abram and for us, we remember that God wants everyone to learn about Him and love Him.
Bless
May our children know that God loves them and always keeps His promises.  May they remember that God always watches over them.

Main Focus: God is a Covenant Keeper (part 1)
Noah (Genesis 6-9)

Anticipate: Floating Boat

God existed when nothing else existed.  And He created all good things from nothing!  He is the everlasting Creator.

Worship with songs: led by Youth Band
Game: 4 Corners

Memory Verse
" Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God."--Psalm 90:2

During Noah's time, God saw how wicked the people had become, and He was deeply troubled.  He decided to send a flood to start things anew with the exception of Noah and his family.  God made a covenant with Noah who lived to please God.  God said He would save Noah's family.  And He did.
A covenant is an extra special promise.  And when God makes a promise or a covenant, He never, ever breaks it.  God always keeps His covenants.  He always does what He says He will do.  God is a Covenant Keeper.
God still make a covenant with us today to save us from sin and death like He did with Noah. We can trust that God is a Covenant Keeper.

Bless
Numbers 23:19
"God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind.  Does he speak and then not act?  Does he promise and not fulfill?"
Thank you, God, that You alway do what You say You will do.  You always keep Your promises.  We can trust in You.
May our children know and experience God as Covenant Keeper this week. May they see God's faithfulness in their lives.

10:45am TRU
1st-4th grade
Main Focus: God is Eternal
Creation/Fall of Man (Genesis 1-3)

Anticipate: Creating Something Beautiful from Nothing
God existed when nothing else existed.  And He created all good things from nothing!  He is the everlasting Creator.

Worship with songs: led by Youth Band
Game: 4 Corners

Memory Verse
" Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God."--Psalm 90:2

God is eternal!  He has always been and will always be.  Genesis gave us a beautiful picture of God's creation of all good things and interaction with humans.  However, the first man and woman chose to disobey God, allowing sin to separate them from the wonderful relationship with God.  But God has a plan to redeem us.  Genesis explains our need for the Redeemer, Jesus Christ, who would defeat sin and death and restore our relationship with God once again.

RespondGod the Creator

God's creation is grant and amazing!  We tried to list as many different things God's created as possible in just 10 minutes.  Look at the board!  And yet, God's created much, much more than this.   God is our eternal Creator!

Bless
Psalm 89:1
"I will sing of the LORD's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations."
May God remind our children that He is the Creator, eternal and good.  May they know He invites them to be a part of the Big God Story today and forever.
