Main Focus: Jesus Is Invincible
Revelation 19;21-22 (Return of Christ)
ANTICIPATE:
Cotton Swabs and Straws Battle
In the great battle described in Revelation, Jesus defeats Satan to overcome evil.  Jesus is the invincible ruler.
Worship with singing:  led by JrHi / High School band
Memory Verse: "May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.."  (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
While John stayed in the island of Patmos, an angel gave him a vision.  In this vision, the angel met with John and told him many amazing things.  John was instructed to write a letter describing the vision and what Jesus looked like.  John described Jesus as victorious, triumphant and invincible.
We know Jesus is invincible, because He has overcome sin and death on the cross and rose again, He will defeat Satan in the final days, overcome evil, and He will one day return to earth as our King.
Response:
The Shield of Faith
The book of Revelation tells us that Jesus will win in the final battle against evil. Nothing and no
one can defeat Jesus! This activity reminds us that Jesus is invincible and that with His help, we too are “more than conquerors.”
Revelation 21:5-7:  "He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”  He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.  Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children."

May our children know in any situation that Jesus in invincible.  May their hearts be full of joy and hope as they wait for His return.  May our children faithfully spread the news of His kingdom until He comes back again.

" Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."
                                                                                                                                        --Matthew 26:39

10:45am TRU
1st-4th grade
Main Focus: God Is Wisdom
James 3

ANTICIPATE:
Foolish Instructions
James wrote that only God is wisdom and without mistakes.  Following foolish instructions can only be foolish (or silly!) so we need to focus on the wise instructions God gives us from the bible.
Worship with singing:  led by JrHi / High School band

Memory Verse: "May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.."  (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
James wrote a letter to encourage God's people to seek His wisdom so that their lives would show His goodness and love to others.  The world's wisdom leads to destruction.  But God's wisdom is "all pure, peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere." (James 3:17) that points others to Jesus.
God generously shares His wisdom with us and He wants to guide believers with His wisdom. We are to tell Him about our struggles, ask for His help with our decisions.  God is wisdom, and we can trust Him to answer our prayers with wisdom beyond our own understanding.
Also read:

Psalm 147:5; Isaiah 55:8-9; Jeremiah 10:12; Romans 11:33

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."--James 1:5
May our children have the courage to ask for wisdom.  May they know that God is wisdom, and trust Him to guide them in all that they do.

10:45am TRU
1st-4th grade
Main Focus: God Is Love
1 Corinthians 12-13

ANTICIPATE:
The Body System
In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul compared the church to the human body that functions as a whole.  Each part is important to the others.  When one part of the body suffers, all of the parts suffer. When all the parts of the body work together, the entire body works as one healthy unit.

Worship with singing:  led by JrHi / High School band

Memory Verse: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."  (Isaiah 41:10)
In his letter, Paul warns that unless we have God's love, all our talents, special abilities and actions are useless.  As the body of Christ, we are meant to love one another and take care of one another.  To understand how God wants us to love, we can look at who He is and how He loves us.  And through the Holy Spirit, we are bond together and are able to love as God loves us.

"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.  Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."--1 John 4:7-8
May our children know the amazing, wonderful love of God.  May His love lead them to love and care for others.
