Main Focus: God Delivers (Judges 3--Ehud)
Anticipate: Other-Handed
Our teams of 2 built strong walls that needed to withstand an "earthquake" and the attacks from the other "city".  In today's story, the strong wall of Jericho was no match for God's power.  When the Israelites trust in and relied on God's faithfulness, they were able to take down even the seemingly strong wall.
Memory Verse: "'Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."  (Deuteronomy 31:6)

During this part of the Big God story, the Israelites lost their way over and over again. They stopped being faithful to God even though they knew He alone was worthy of worship. God, however, had mercy on them and delivered them from their suffering when they turned back to Him. He always remained faithful to His people. Because He is faithful, we will never have to be afraid or feel unable to do what He wants us to do.  God chose Ehud to deliver His people from King Eglon. Ehud was left-handed and had limited use of his right hand. In Ehud’s day, society considered being left-handed was a major disadvantage and disgrace. Yet God used Ehud’s supposed handicap to do His work and bring deliverance to His people. No matter how weak we feel, we are “more than conquerors” with God’s help.
Response: Keep It Up!
When we do things the way God plans, things get easier.  And when we have many people together obeying God's call that changes things, too.

May our children look to God to deliver them.  May they trust that He sees them and hears their very cry for help.
