Main Focus: God Is in Faithful (Joshua 1-6--Joshua and the Wall of Jericho)
Anticipate: Making Strong Walls
Our teams of 2 built strong walls that needed to withstand an "earthquake" and the attacks from the other "city".  In today's story, the strong wall of Jericho was no match for God's power.  When the Israelites trust in and relied on God's faithfulness, they were able to take down even the seemingly strong wall.

Memory Verse: "'Let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD."  (Jeremiah 9:24)

Now that the first generations of the Israelites had pass away, God sent them a new leader, Joshua, and prepared them to go into the Promised Land.  God miraculously opened the river so His people could cross it safely into their new homeland. Once the Israelites arrived, God gave the Israelites specific instructions about how they would defeat the city.  Because God is faithful, He had given His people victory over the city and fulfilled the promise He had made to the Israelites' ancestors by bringing them into the Promised Land.  We, too, can trust in God's faithfulness.
Worship Response: God's Way
God is faithful and we can trust Him even when we do not understand why he asks us to do certain things certain ways.  God can knock down ANY obstacle in front of us if we:
(1) Ask through prayer
(2) Listen to His words in the bible

(3) Believe He is faithful. Sometimes just believing can be hard!
May our children know that the Lord our god is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His Commandments. (Deuteronomy 7:9)
