Main Focus: God Is Warrior
The Exodus, part 1 (Exodus 5-12)
Anticipate: Plague Game
God asked Moses to get the Israelites released from slavery in Egypt. But Pharaoh would not let God's people go. God had to send many plagues to convince the Pharaoh that God is greater than any idols the Egyptians worshipped and that Pharaoh would not be able to win and would have to let his Israelite slaves go. God is Warrior!
Worship with music: by youth band
Game: 4 Corners
Memory Verse:
"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to e still."--Exodus 14:14
The Egyptians believed in lots of different deities. While the Israelites lived in Egypt, they also witnessed the idol worshipping of the land. The Israelites were also mistreated by the Egyptians and were enslaved. They cried out to God to help them. And their Warrior God heard their cry and helped. God sent 10 plagues to attack each false Egyptian god and to show the Egyptians as well as the Israelites that He alone is the one true God. God not only delivered the Israelites from their bondage but also deliver their hears and minds from the allegiance to the false gods. God is Warrior!
Respond: Brick Making Assembly Line
The Israelites were enslaved with much work. Making bricks does not sound so bad if it's all by machine or in molds. But what if you had to find the materials, mix them up and then make enough bricks to meet a quota. All of the sudden, the pressure is on! The Israelites had to do this with much heavier materials day in and day out with no pay. That's the situation they were in. That's why they cried out to their Warrior God for help.

Bless:
Psalm 144:1-2
“Praise be to the LORD my Rock…He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge.”
May our children go out this week with peace. May they know that God is their Warrior.
