Main Focus: God Is the Lord of Life
2 Kings 5 (Elisha and Naaman)
ANTICIPATE:  "Hidden Pictures"
Sometimes it's easy to take every day life for granted.  In today's story, we will find out that God is the Lord of Life and He gives us life both for our bodies and our souls.
Naaman was a Gentile commander who grew up without knowing God.  God used prophet Elisha to not only physically heal Naaman from leprosy but also spiritually heal him from sin.  God became the source of life for Naaman.  God is still the Lord of life today.
Memory Verse: "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.  (Proverbs 16:9 )

Worship Response: "Fingerprint Creatures to Tell Others About God"
God used people around Naaman to tell him about the Lord of Life.  God wants to use us to encourage, warn or tell others about Jesus.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:  The old has gone, the new is here!"--2 Corinthians 5:17
May the Lord of Life meet al the needs of our children.  May the old ways of our children be washed away and may our children live the new life God has for them in Christ.

Main Focus: Yahweh: The Most High God
1 Kings 18-19 (Elijah on Mt. Carmel)
ANTICIPATE:  "Tru Olympics"
Elijah challenged the prophets of the false god, Baal, to a contest on Mt. Carmel to see whether Yahweh, the Most High God, or Baal was real and all-powerful.
Throughout this week's Big God Story, we saw Yahweh, the Most High God, in some very different ways.  We saw Him as an consuming fire, bringing glory to Himself and causing His people to return to Him.  We also saw Him speak in a gentle whisper to Elijah to comfort him.  Today, we can trust that Yahweh is the Most High God who is powerful, loves us, protects us, demands our worship and comforts us.

Worship Response: "God Is God!"--God is one true and existing God.

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."--Psalm 46:10

1st-4th grade
Main Focus: God Protects
1 Samuel 18-20 (David and Jonathan)
ANTICIPATE:  "Walk of Fame"
Special Guest:  "Halfway Herbert" with Pastor Glen
Pastor Glen told  the story of Halfway Herbert and reminded us to love the Lord with ALL our heart.
David was anointed king, but he did not become king immediately.  God had some important lessons to teach him.  When David went to live with king Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David and loved him as himself.  However, David was faced with the increasingly jealous and angry king.  Saul would not spare any opportunity to rid of David to ensure his own kingdom.  But God protected David again and again.  God even used an extraordinary friend, Jonathan, to help protect David. So David could one day become the king of Israel.
Memory Verse: "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.  (Proverbs 16:9 )

Worship Response: "Guided to Safety"
When we read the news in this world that has largely turned away from God, it can be quite disturbing and scary.  But, God protects!  Those who trust in the Lord can have peace because God is able to protect His people. We can trust in God's protection.
May our children be kept safe from all evil this week.  May they know God is with them in times of danger and trust God is able to protect them.
