March 8th Lessons

True Worship

Miss Ruth and Miss Jing talked about what true worship means and read the story of Noah building an altar.

The class also looked at John 4:24 where it says:
"God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."

God desires our worship.  When we worship, we please God.  Worship puts God first.

                                                            Jesus Is The Light

Mr. Allen led the class through John chapter 8 (Jesus' forgiveness, the arguments with the Pharisees, and that Jesus is the light.)

"When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'”--John 8:12

Woman at the Well (John 4:1-42)

During Anticipate, the small group leaders played the board game "From Judea to Galilee" with the kids.

The youth band led us sing "Deep & Wide", "Kum Ba Yah", and "Rejoice In the Lord Always".

The youth joined us in the games.  We played a few guessing games.  At the end, we realized no matter how good we are at guessing, it was still impossible for us to know all things.  Only God knows all things.

God knows all things

We learned about Jesus' conversation with the woman at the well.  Jesus knew that the woman was a Samaritan and that she was living in sin. He knew everything about her, both the good and the bad, and still wanted a relationship with her.  Jesus knows everything about us and wants a relationship with us, too!

After the story, we sang "I Have A Maker" (click on the song title to listen online), remembering that our God knows everything.

May our children rest in the peace of being known by our Heavenly Father. May the children tell others the good news of Jesus.
